Live NetTV Not Working? How to Fix It

Most problems with the app come down to a handful of causes. Work through these fixes in order and you will usually be watching again within a few minutes.

When Live NetTV stops working, the cause is almost always one of four things: a channel link that has gone down, a weak or filtered internet connection, a full or corrupted app cache, or an outdated version of the app. The fixes below are ordered from fastest to most thorough, so start at the top and stop when the problem is gone.

The three fixes that solve most problems: restart the device, clear the app cache, and try another link.

First, work out what kind of problem it is

Knowing the symptom saves time. Match yours to the list below and jump to the most likely fix.

What you seeMost likely causeStart with
One channel will not play, others workThat stream link is downFix 1
No channels load at allConnection or DNS problemFixes 2–4
Video starts, then keeps pausingSlow or unstable connectionFix 4 and our buffering guide

“App not installed” or “There was a problem parsing the package”Wrong build or a damaged downloadFix 9

Live NetTV does not host video. Each channel points to one or more streams published by third-party sources, and individual streams go offline all the time. If one channel fails while others play normally, the problem is that link, not your device.

Open the channel again and pick a different link if more than one is offered. If none work, long-press the channel and use the report option so it can be checked. Most dead links are replaced within a day.

Fix 2: Restart the app and the device

It sounds too simple, but a full restart clears stuck network connections and frees memory that other apps have been holding on to.

  • Fire TV: hold Select and Play/Pause on the remote together for about five seconds until the device restarts.
  • Android TV and Google TV: go to Settings › System › Restart, or unplug the device from power for 30 seconds.
  • Android phone: hold the power button and tap Restart.

Fix 3: Check that the internet actually works

Open another streaming or browser app on the same device. If that also fails, the problem is the connection, not Live NetTV. If your Fire TV says Connected, no internet, follow our dedicated fix guide. Restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds, then wait two minutes for it to reconnect before trying again.

On mobile data, check that the app is allowed to use data in the background. On Android go to Settings › Apps › Live NetTV › Mobile data and turn on Background data.

Fix 4: Change your DNS if nothing loads

Some internet providers and public Wi-Fi networks block or slow the addresses that streams are served from. Switching to a public DNS service often fixes channels that refuse to load at all.

On Android 9 and later phones, go to Settings › Network & internet › Private DNS, choose Private DNS provider hostname and enter dns.google or one.one.one.one. On Fire TV and most TV boxes the simplest route is to change DNS on your router instead, so every device benefits.

Fix 5: Clear the app cache

A corrupted cache is the most common reason the app freezes on the loading screen or closes unexpectedly. Clearing the cache does not remove the app or your settings.

  • Fire TV: Settings › Applications › Manage Installed Applications › Live NetTV › Clear cache.
  • Android TV / Google TV: Settings › Apps › See all apps › Live NetTV › Clear cache.
  • Android phone: Settings › Apps › Live NetTV › Storage › Clear cache.

Open the app again. If it still misbehaves, repeat the steps and choose Clear data as well. That resets the app to a fresh install, so favourites and player choices will need setting again.

Fix 6: Make sure you are on the latest version

Older versions stop working as streams and servers change. Check the version in the app's side menu and compare it with the version listed on our install guides. If yours is older, install the new build over the top. Your settings are kept. Our guide to updating Live NetTV covers each device.

Fix 7: Free up storage

Devices with less than about 500 MB of free space start closing apps to recover memory, and video apps are the first to go. Fire TV Lite and older sticks with 8 GB of storage hit this limit quickly. Our guide to freeing up storage on a Firestick shows where the space goes and how to get it back.

Fix 8: Switch to a different video player

If a channel plays sound with no picture, stutters badly or shows a black screen, the built-in player may not handle that stream's format on your device. Live NetTV lets you choose an external player such as MX Player or VLC. Our external player guide explains how to set one up and which works best on each device.

Fix 9: Reinstall with the correct build

Live NetTV has three builds: one for Fire TV, one for Android TV and Google TV, and one for phones and tablets. Installing the wrong one leads to a broken layout, a remote that will not navigate, or an install error. Uninstall the app, then download the right build from the matching install guide.

“There was a problem parsing the package” almost always means the download was interrupted. Delete the APK file and download it again over a stable connection.

Fix 10: Check the date and time

Secure connections fail if your device clock is wrong, which can stop every channel from loading. Go to your device's Date & time settings and turn on automatic date and time. This is a common cause on TV boxes that have been unplugged for a while.

Still not working?

If you have worked through every fix, contact us with your device model, the app version and the exact error you see. A screenshot helps. That information usually lets us pinpoint the cause straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Is Live NetTV down for everyone?

Very rarely. When many channels fail at once it is usually a local connection or DNS issue. If other apps work and a DNS change does not help, check back after an hour. Server-side problems are usually short.

Why do some channels work one day and not the next?

Channels link to streams published by third-party sources, and those streams change address or go offline without notice. Reporting a channel from inside the app is the fastest way to get it checked.

Will clearing data delete the app?

No. Clearing data resets the app to how it was right after installation. The app stays installed, but favourites and player settings are lost.

Does a VPN fix Live NetTV?

Sometimes it helps when a network blocks certain addresses, but it adds overhead and can make buffering worse. Try a DNS change first, since it costs nothing and does not slow your connection.
