Installation steps

Follow these in order — most problems come from skipping one.

1

Unlock Developer options

Open Settings › System › About, scroll to Android TV OS build and click it seven times. A message confirms you are now a developer.

2

Allow installs from unknown sources

Go to Settings › Apps › Security & restrictions › Unknown sources and switch on the app you will download with — Downloader.

On Google TV the same setting lives under Settings › System › About for the unlock, then Apps › Security & restrictions. The wording varies by manufacturer.
3

Install the Downloader app

Open the Google Play Store on your device and install Downloader by AFTVnews. It is free.

4

Enter the download address

Open Downloader, select the URL box and type the short address below, then press Go.

app.livenettv.mn/tv
5

Install the APK

When the download finishes, choose Install, then Done. Delete the APK afterwards to free up space on the box.

6

Open Live NetTV

The app appears in your apps row. On some launchers sideloaded apps are hidden — look under Settings › Apps › See all apps and open it from there the first time.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask most about the Android TV & Google TV version

What is the difference between the Android TV build and the phone build?

This build is laid out for a remote: larger text, D-pad navigation and a grid that works at television viewing distance. The phone build expects a touchscreen and is awkward to drive with a remote.

Does it work on Google TV as well as Android TV?

Yes. Google TV is a launcher running on top of Android TV, so the same package installs on both. Only the menu names differ while enabling unknown sources.

The app installed but I cannot find it on the home screen.

Some Android TV launchers hide sideloaded apps. Open Settings › Apps › See all apps, find Live NetTV and open it. Most launchers then add it to the apps row.

Can I use a mouse or keyboard instead of the remote?

Yes. A USB or Bluetooth mouse works and makes typing the download address much quicker, though it is not required.

How do I update to a newer version?

Run the Downloader steps again with the same address. The newer build installs over the old one without removing your settings.
