LiveNetTV stopped working in February 2026 and has shut down for good. If you used it for news, sport highlights, films or channels from home, the apps below cover most of that for free. Each one is published by a known company and comes from the Google Play Store or the Amazon Appstore, so nothing has to be sideloaded and every app updates itself.

Line-ups and availability change often, and the same app can carry different channels in different countries. The app store only shows apps that are offered where you live.
Pluto TV
Pluto TV is the closest thing to cable TV for free. It lays out hundreds of channels in a familiar programme guide, from news and comedy to classic series, films and sport channels. There is no sign-up: install it and start watching. It is owned by Paramount and runs in more than 30 countries, including the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy and Spain, each with its own local channels.
Best for: channel-surfing the old-fashioned way. Get it: Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore.
Plex
Plex is best known for organising your own video library, but it also offers more than 600 free live channels and a large on-demand catalogue in most countries. A free account is needed, which also syncs your watchlist between devices.
Best for: the widest international availability. Get it: Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore.
Samsung TV Plus
Samsung TV Plus is built into Samsung televisions and Galaxy phones and tablets, and also works in a web browser. It offers hundreds of free channels with no sign-up in the US, the UK and much of Europe. Samsung TVs cannot install Android apps, so this is the easiest free live TV option for anyone who used LiveNetTV through a Fire TV stick plugged into a Samsung set.
Best for: Samsung TV and Galaxy owners. Get it: pre-installed on Samsung devices.
Tubi
Tubi, owned by Fox, has a very large free film and TV library. In the US it also carries live news and entertainment channels that play without an account. It launched in the UK in July 2024, where the focus is on-demand films and series.
Best for: films and series when nothing is on live. Get it: Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore.
The Roku Channel
You do not need a Roku device. In the US, The Roku Channel app also runs on Google TV and Android TV and offers hundreds of free live channels alongside on-demand shows.
Best for: US viewers with a Google TV device. Get it: Google Play Store.
Sling Freestream
Sling's free tier carries hundreds of ad-supported live channels in the US with no paid subscription. A free account unlocks extras such as a small amount of cloud recording.
Best for: US viewers who want a large free line-up. Get it: Google Play Store, Amazon Appstore.

- ITVX: ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and ITVBe live, free with adverts.
- Channel 4: Channel 4, E4, More4 and Film4 live, free with adverts.
- Freely: the free streaming service from the UK broadcasters. It is built into newer smart TVs, including Amazon's Fire TV televisions, but it is not available on Fire TV sticks.
Free live TV in Europe

- Italy: RaiPlay streams the Rai channels live.

Public broadcasters usually limit live streams to viewers inside their own country.
Free channels already on your device
- Fire TV: the Live tab on the home screen gathers free ad-supported channels from Amazon and partner apps, depending on your country.
- Google TV: in supported countries, Google TV Freeplay adds free live channels straight into the Live tab, with no extra app.
- YouTube: many major news broadcasters stream live on their official YouTube channels around the clock. Search for the broadcaster's name followed by “live”.
Why we only list official apps
Many sites recommend other unofficial streaming APKs as LiveNetTV replacements. Those apps tend to go the same way LiveNetTV did, are often repackaged with adware, and ask for permissions no TV app needs. Every app on this page is published by a known company and distributed through the official app stores, which means it is reviewed, updated automatically and easy to remove.
Frequently asked questions
How can I watch live TV channels for free?
Install free ad-supported apps such as Pluto TV, Plex or Samsung TV Plus, and your country's broadcaster apps, such as BBC iPlayer and ITVX in the UK or ARD and ZDF in Germany. Between them they carry hundreds of live channels at no cost.
Are these apps really free?
Yes. They are paid for by advertising, much like broadcast television. Some offer optional paid upgrades, but the live channels listed here are free. BBC iPlayer is the exception: it is free to download, but watching live TV needs a UK TV Licence.
Why can I not find some of these apps?
Free live TV services license channels country by country, so each app is only offered where it has the rights. The app store only shows apps available in your region.
Is there an app exactly like LiveNetTV?
Not a legal one. No licensed app carries channels from every country in one list for free. The closest legal setup is Pluto TV or Plex for a channel guide, plus your local broadcaster apps for national channels.
