Live Net TV was never on Google Play or the Amazon Appstore, so it spread as APK files, and many APK sites still offer “new” versions with bigger numbers or extra labels. Since the service shut down in 2026, no version of any kind plays channels. But the question of which files were genuine still matters, because the fake ones can do more than fail.
Which versions were real
The last builds distributed from the official download server were:
| Build | Version | File | Size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Android phones and tablets | 5.0.1 | LiveNetTV_Mobile_5.0.1-official_.apk | 32 MB |
| Android TV and Google TV | 5.0.5 | LiveNetTV_ATV_5.0.5_Release.apk | 30 MB |
| Fire TV and Firestick | 1.8.3 | LiveNetTV_Amazon_1.8.3_Release.apk | 16 MB |
Older numbers people still search for, such as 4.8.6 and 4.9, are widely listed on APK sites as earlier releases of the same app. The Fire TV build always had its own numbering (1.x), so a “Live Net TV 5.x for Firestick” is really the Android TV build under another label.
Live Net TV 5.2
We could find no official Live Net TV 5.2 release. The number appears on third-party APK sites, but not among the builds published by the app's own server, whose last versions are listed above. A file labelled 5.2 is either a renamed copy of an older build or a modified app from an unknown source. Either way, it plays nothing now.
Live Net TV Pro and Ad-Free
We found no official “Pro”, “Premium” or “Ad-Free” edition of Live Net TV among its published builds. The official app was free and supported by adverts. Versions sold or shared under these labels were modified copies with the ad code stripped out by someone else. To do that, the file has to be unpacked and re-signed, and a re-signed app can carry anything: adware, trackers or code that asks for permissions a TV app never needs.
Why no version works in 2026
Every build, official or modified, fetched its channel list and streams from the operators' servers. In February 2026 those streams stopped after a police raid in Turkey, and in June 2026 the operators settled with the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment and handed ten domains to the Motion Picture Association. With the servers gone, a newer number or an “ad-free” label cannot bring anything back.
Installed one of these versions?
- Uninstall it. On Fire TV: Settings › Applications › Manage Installed Applications. On Android TV: Settings › Apps. On a phone: press and hold the icon and choose Uninstall.
- Check for leftovers. If you installed a Pro or Ad-Free copy, look through your installed apps for anything you do not recognise, and run a scan with Google Play Protect.
- Turn unknown sources off if you only allowed it for Live Net TV.
- Install free, legal live TV instead. See 15 alternatives for Firestick and Android TV or 12 apps for Android phones.
Frequently asked questions
What was the latest version of Live Net TV?
The last official builds were 5.0.1 for Android phones, 5.0.5 for Android TV and 1.8.3 for Fire TV. None of them work now that the service has shut down.
Is Live Net TV 5.2 real?
We could find no official 5.2 release. Files with that number come from third-party sites and are either renamed older builds or modified copies.
Is Live Net TV Pro or Ad-Free safe?
No. We found no official Pro or Ad-Free edition, so these are modified apps re-signed by unknown people. They do not work any more either.
Can an older version like 4.8.6 still work?
No. All versions used the same servers, which are offline.
What should I use instead?
Free, legal apps from the official stores, such as Pluto TV, Plex and Tubi, plus BBC iPlayer, ITVX and Channel 4 in the UK.
