Live Net TV advertised more than 800 live channels in nine categories: news, sports, entertainment, movies, documentaries, cooking, music, kids and religious. It never had the rights to broadcast them, which is a large part of why it was shut down in 2026. The list below goes category by category and shows where you can watch the same kind of channel legally today, starting with the free options.
News channels
News is the easiest category to replace for free. Many international broadcasters stream live around the clock on their official websites and official YouTube channels:
- Al Jazeera English, France 24 and Sky News: free live streams on their own websites and YouTube channels.
- Free apps: Pluto TV, Haystack News and Samsung TV Plus carry news channels in a TV guide.
- UK: BBC News live on BBC iPlayer (TV Licence required).
- US: local news on Local Now and Stirr; CNN live in the CNN app with a TV provider login.
Sports channels
Live sport is the one category with few free legal options, because the rights are expensive. The official routes are:
- UK: Sky Sports (through Sky or NOW) and TNT Sports for the Premier League and much more; BBC iPlayer for free coverage of major events and Match of the Day.
- US: ESPN for US and college sport, Peacock and NBC for the Premier League, and Fubo or Sling for cable sports channels.
- Worldwide: DAZN for boxing and football in many countries, F1 TV for Formula 1, Willow for cricket in the US and Canada.

Entertainment channels
Free ad-supported services carry hundreds of entertainment channels: classic series, reality TV, comedy and game shows. Start with Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel and Xumo Play. In the UK, ITVX and Channel 4 stream their own channels live for free.
Movie channels
Pluto TV and Plex run dozens of free 24/7 movie channels by genre, and Tubi has one of the largest free on-demand film libraries. For new releases, the paid services are Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and Paramount+.
Documentary channels
Free documentary channels on Pluto TV, Plex and Samsung TV Plus cover history, science, nature and true crime. Magellan TV is an ad-free subscription service dedicated to documentaries.
Cooking channels
Free cooking and food channels, such as Tastemade and other recipe channels, are available on Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus and The Roku Channel, depending on your country.
Music channels
Free music video channels run on Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus and Xumo Play, and YouTube has official artist and label channels for almost any genre.
Kids channels
Pluto TV and Tubi both have dedicated kids sections. In the UK, CBeebies and CBBC are live and on demand in BBC iPlayer. Disney+ and Netflix have kids profiles with parental controls; see our guide to parental controls on Fire TV.
Religious channels
Many religious broadcasters stream their channels live for free on their own websites, YouTube channels and apps. Search for the broadcaster's official name to find its live stream, and avoid unofficial apps that bundle these channels with pirated content.
Set it up on your device
Most of the apps above install in a few minutes from the official app stores. Follow the guide for your device: Firestick, Android TV and Google TV or Android phone. On iPhone, PC or a smart TV, see Live Net TV on iPhone, PC and smart TV. All the apps are in one place on our free resources page.
